Blue Topaz Jewelry Has a Lovely, Elegant Beauty
December's birthstone is the Topaz. After discovering that topaz is my birthstone, I have become fascinated with the stone. At present, I have quite a large collection of blue topaz jewelry. My favorite is a pair of earrings given to me by my husband on Mother's Day. Although Topaz is fairly inexpensive, its brilliant shine compares favorably with many "more precious" gemstones.
There are many delightful qualities of this gemstone that I noticed during the process of collecting blue topaz jewelry. The color range itself is fascinating. With shades roaming from ice blue, to a dark, foggy aquamarine, this birthstone has a wide variety of hues.

The earrings my husband gave me were set with magnificent, icy blue, clear topaz. A topaz will shine with reflected light just as brilliantly as a diamond will. However matching them with another piece of jewelry can be a tough challenge. I attempted to pair it with a deep colored necklace that has a large stone enclosed by two smaller stones. This blue topaz jewelry has deep and rich tones and is not very clear. Being matched by the earrings did not show the necklace to it's very best potential.
